CATRINA THOMAS
BARRISTER & SOLICITOR
Catrina Thomas attended Law School at Thompson Rivers University in Kamloops, BC, and was called to the bar in 2024 after articling in the Lower Mainland. Catrina grew to love the Kamloops community during her time at TRU and decided to return to start her career.
Catrina experienced academic success during her time in law school and was awarded two British Columbia Public Interest Awards and multiple course prizes for her commitment and hard work.
Catrina has always made it a priority to be involved and give back to her local community. While in law school Catrina took on the role of student representative for the Kamloops Bar Association, was a teaching assistant for first-year constitutional law, and worked as a student clinician at the TRU Community Legal Clinic, learning about the legal challenges and needs in her community.
Catrina further honed her passion for human rights and disability advocacy by volunteering with the MS Society through Pro Bono Student Canada. Catrina has also volunteered for over 10 years with Vela Microboard, a not-for-profit organization that works with individuals with disabilities, and now sits as an active Director on their board.
Catrina cherishes quality time spent with family, friends, her family dog, Hamish, and cat, Endeavour. Catrina likes to unwind by jewelry-making, singing in choirs, camping, swimming and playing board games.
Catrina looks forward to building her family law practice at Cates Ford Soll & Epp, while developing an active elder law practice for the firm, a topic and population she has been deeply passionate about since childhood. Catrina is thrilled to advocate for her clients by combining her compassionate approach and creative perspectives with a strong commitment and pursuit of inclusive, accessible justice.
