SHIVA BHARDWAJ
BARRISTER & SOLICITOR

Shiva grew up in Delhi, India, and became a lawyer in 2017 after graduating from I.P. University in Delhi. In 2024, he completed his Master of Laws (LL.M.) at the University of British Columbia. After articling in Kamloops, he joined Cates Ford Soll & Epp LLP as an associate lawyer. 

 

Shiva brings extensive legal experience from India, where he practiced family law, criminal law, civil litigation, and banking law. He secured multiple high-stakes bail orders for individuals who had been incarcerated for months and served as a panel lawyer for several Government of India banks. He also adjudicated over 30 matters as a sole arbitrator. 

 

During his LL.M. at UBC, Shiva volunteered with the Law Students’ Legal Advice Program, providing free legal assistance to low-income individuals. During his articles, he gained hands-on experience in family law, civil litigation, and administrative matters, including cases before the Human Rights Tribunal, Residential Tenancy Branch, and Small Claims Court.

In his spare time, Shiva enjoys trying out new cafes and restaurants, working out, hiking, reading, listening to instrumental and orchestral music, and stock trading.
